IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Minato Arisato
Age: approx. 17
Canon: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
Canon Point: Post-journey
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Orientation:
Minato Arisato is perceived through the game as heterosexual; he only has romantic social links with female characters rather than male! But, of course, being the silent protagonist he is, one can say he can lean either way... But we're going to go with heterosexual and that he's at least open-minded.
History: LINK
Appearance: CONCEPT ART
Personality:

Time never waits.
It delivers all equally to the same end.
You, who wish to safeguard the future,
however limited it may be...
You will be given one year;

go forth without falter,
with your heart as your guide...

Minato first comes off as a person that lacks much charisma when it comes to being friendly, even spot-on preferring to sleep rather than ask questions. To be quite honest, he literally sleeps… most of the time in the game (not to mention you have a choice to sleep in class) and it has been emphasized in the manga that he has dozes off and sometimes stares into space in a daze, proving to be so apparent that everyone has figured out about his slight narcoleptic tendencies. The lack of enthusiasm isn’t something that he can easily change and really, he himself would say it’s a bit out of character for him to even smile when greeting a total stranger. Though it doesn’t show in his face, people have argued that he is quite eager… for example the Ms. Toriumi in Persona 3 Portable literally says this much to many people’s disbelief. It’s more likely that she found his actions rather than his approach to be zealous… though it’s more that he merely goes along with whatever it is.

He’s not only known for his drowsy disposition, he’s also known for going with the flow and staying calm. This shows right off the bat in the beginning of the game where he doesn’t panic during his first encounter with the dark hour and signs the contract that was presented to him by a creepy little boy without much hesitance. Not only that, he is nominated as the leader during their first investigation of Tartarus originally for a short period of time until SEES unanimously agreed that they feel it is best for him to stay as leader. His fighting style tends to be... improvising though he does have an initial game plan in mind. Actually, he gets dragged around to do a lot of things and proves to be quite flexible along with easily enabled. Throughout his social links, he would be taken to different places or asked to hang out, and Elizabeth has those favors that she wants you do to amongst the worlds of both dream and reality. Conveniently, a lot of the outings had to do with eating and contributed to his large appetite. Speaking of quirks, he’s pretty eccentric and has SOME sense of humor…
Ken: Huh? Oh, I'm drinking coffee. How do you drink your coffee, Minato-san?
Minato: (third option is) With hot sauce.
Ken: Huh? H-Hot sauce? You mean, like hot sauce used to make your food spicy? You're just kidding, right? I mean, no one would put hot sauce in their coffee... would they?
Some instances shows him making ridiculous decisions and making some puns when playing Innocent Sin Online. He moonwalks out of stores and… eats a ton. In the end, Minato’s flexibility does not necessarily mean that he is a pushover, but he’s open to new ideas and opportunities. Of course, he makes his own choices on whether to partake in an event in favor of sleeping through it and also can actually choose to be the one that reaches out to others. Some examples would be that he takes some of the SEES’ members, even Koromaru, to the movies and his social links in general. Unfortunately, this isn’t applied to his expressions…

He usually seems indifferent and that might be true for time to time. With a background like his, having both of his parents dead from an accident and having to move around a lot, it would be natural for him to be reserved. Nevertheless, he’s open to be anyone’s friend. He has this mysterious aura around him that lures people to confront him, which is how he establishes social links. In this aura, people say they feel like a better person, secure, and safe. Alas, that still doesn’t mean his social skills are admirable to say the least. Even though he has many friends, he’s not the one that starts nor participates the conversation to a certain extent. He’ll say some sentences, usually cheering up the other, but he will not intrude in the conversation unless asked for his own opinion or he believes that he should.

In reality, he’s never really seen talking about his background or much about himself… Many people find this a problem, thinking that he is too apathetic, but soon enough they realize that he truly cares about them rather than so much himself. Somehow in some way, he’s capable of showing empathy in some of his words and actions despite how little they may seem in quantity. With this certain level of understanding, he never seems to judge nor blame others and is willing to give a person another chance. His social links are no different. In the end of each social link, it shows that he has a huge impact on the persons' life and helped them achieve a greater resolution. He proves in the end to be trustworthy, keeping his promises to the very end… leaving him with no regrets.

Deep down, without that aura, Minato is really a loner. As said above, he wouldn’t really put much effort when it comes to the first pinch and can do without many friends. Many people find this a problem, thinking that he doesn’t care, but soon enough they realize that he truly cares about them rather than himself. Which can be seen when Yukari is angry at him, more like the world, and told him how his facade implies that he doesn't care. She later takes it back when she realizes he came for her sake to see if she was doing fine. This trait can also evolve into some kind of messiah-complex. He’ll carry the weight on his shoulders without saying a word and walk up the stairs alone. He’s used to people depending on him and never did he reject their proposal. His party members’ lives were in his hands and he never ceased to fail them once (If you haven’t played the game, the party members can be a load of fail). In the end, despite his friends’ pleas, he went to battle against Death alone solely to protect them and the world. So he opens himself up to people with no trouble, but never did they really get through to him.

All of his classmates’ first impression were he’s always in a daze, sleepy, zombie-looking, or using his headphones. Slowly his status changed to cool, sleepy, or using his headphones around November, that’s how the manga said it... Minato’s personality was originally based on the player’s choices, but there are some things like the inescapable actions and the options he is given to help interpret his personality. He doesn’t talk much and easily keeps his cool, capable of tackling any obstacle that’s thrown at him. Sure, he has those moments where he is caught off guard, but that doesn’t mean they last that long. He usually has a blank expression and doesn’t do anything peculiar; he hangs out with his friends after school (they even say he laughs at Junpei’s dirty jokes somewhere in the beginning), attends to club meetings, goes to kendo/swim/track/whatever practice, plays MMORPG in his room, study, sleep, eat, or just spends his time at the mall. Maybe doing the moonwalk back inside restaurants, eating a peta-wac set meal with little girls, participating in the Wanko Tokoroten Tourney with a foreign student, and engaging in a ten-box takoyaki eat-it-all with a student from a different high school. Let’s just say Minato likes to eat, sleep to the point where he can miss out and be forgetful (like... for example, someone's name and face), wander around, and talk to people from time to time but not often... Nothing really suspicious at all, he is human.

Overall, his actions show more than his words. Being quiet, reserved, and flexible is his game. He’s also like zero, "empty, but at the same time carries infinite possibilities". So really, he's everything you could ever think of from best friend/lover to rival yet he is also nothing of the sort. As the wild card, he is extraordinary from the beginning and solely acts on the situation. It wasn't that his journey throughout the game changed him too drastically, it unlocked the potential he has within himself. With the many opportunities, he delved more into what he could become and understand what he is not. Nevertheless, the game has an undying theme that wraps up the unanimous feel of what motivates Minato into continuing this seemingly hopeless conquest of halting The Fall. What might that be? He found meaning in his life. It wasn't about becoming a hero, it was protecting the bonds in his life. It was simply taking care of those that he cared for.

He found meaning and easily chose the decision to sacrifice himself. That, in itself, is his unyielding resolve.
Abilites:
He's pretty roundabout, whether it is fencing, swordsmanship, sports, academics, contests, or fighting... his skills appear to be pretty decent. Can I also say that he has a black hole for a stomach? This also goes to show how much endurance he has; an example would be eating a whole peta-wac meal (which is like 1000000000x burgers?) and surviving through Fuuka’s cooking.

The main ability is that he can summon a persona, a manifestation of his own personality used to fight shadows. Unlike many persona-users, he can switch his persona to any that he has made in the velvet room or gained through his victories in battles against shadows through card shuffle. Since he’s adapted to being able to summon different personas, he can have any kind of role! He can be on offense, buff, debuff, support, and heal, etc. depending on whatever persona he equips.

Since each persona is of a major Arcana, their strengths and weaknesses will differentiate. His ability doesn't stop there, his stats/strengths and weakness mirror the equipped persona.

Despite that cool persona stuff, it can only work during the Dark Hour... So it is technically null and void--plus with his death and all.
Other:
♫ CHARIOT SOCIAL LINK: Kendo Club
♫ THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE SOCIAL LINK: Photography Club
♫ FEMALE SOCIAL LINKS: Downgraded to max level before intimate relationship for the sake having no prospective castmate feeling they need to fulfill it. Also I would rather develop them in-game.

First Person:
[ Minato only finds himself in this new home... Obviously perplexed if not quite tired still. It's strange to say that when you thought you were going to move on you are sent somewhere else in a blink of an eye. Nevertheless, he's sitting here in front of the webcam.

He's really not sure what he should say or if he should say anything at all. In reality, he feels sleepy. Nevertheless, he scoped through the computer with hooded eyes wondering if Innocent Sin Online was a thing--Oh. Wait.
]

No internet... [ FINE. He'll just check the community stuff and see people posting... Chatting. This makes him a bit curious much to one's dismay if they saw him yawning into his palm. He should start typing though since it's much easier to get all his words out like that. ]
