I don't know where to go here. I've never been here before. I'm fine with just walking around though.

[ His sense of adventure awaits--except he doesn't have his panda companion this time. Sad... ]

Hm... I think the park here is worth visiting--a decent start for someone new. [ His second choice of internship was in tourism... Other than that, he check for hours on his phone. ]

Most of the buildings should be open till six.

Why do they close so early?

[ He looks up at Cameron as he asks. He doesn't ask out of disbelief, but rather curiosity since he remembers that stores usually close at later times. ]

I think it's a tourism thing. I've never personally thought about going to indoor gardens and museums at night. [ He scratches his cheek as he checks the bus schedules. His reasoning is sound to him, so he doesn't try to articulate more. ]

The blue line bus should be here soon. It'll take us to the park in a couple of minutes. [ The transportation here is amazing. ]

Oh... [ He takes the time to think about this. ]

What's the blue line bus?

There are three buses here: red, blue, and gold. They are usually express and can get you almost anywhere in this town as long as you wake up for your stop. Doesn't change the fact you still need to hop buses though, but it's convenient compared to where I last lived. [ He shrugs and halts at the bus stop. ]

Should be here in five. [ As in minutes. ] Do you not take buses?

Oh... that sounds really convenient. [ He tilts his head. ] There aren't any buses where I live. It's just by foot, bike, or car.

[ Or panda. ]

Inconvenient... Biking is good for you though.

[ Here comes the blue bus. You can tell it's blue because this stop is blue and the color on the place where the bus parks for a bit is also blue. The driver heartily greets Cameron and motions them in...

And the rest of the passengers, too. He waves at them ad tries to find a seat-- ] There's an open seat over there.

[ Damien follows Cameron into the bus, but is startled by the greeting of... everyone in the bus. He's used to maybe one or two people, but mostly nobody greeting anybody, so this is a new experience.

And he feels uncomfortable, so he stands closer to Cameron more. ]

... Something wrong? [ He looks down at Damien while holding onto those hanging things. I forgot what they're called, but you get what I mean.

The old couple in the front look concern and mention the poor boy must be intimidated. ]

Do you just want to stand here with me then?

[ Damien doesn't nod but he holds onto Cameron by his other arm, so that he doesn't fall over with the momentum of the bus's movements. ]

[ He tries to keep Damien steady as well. The passengers on the bus mind their own business, talking amongst themselves etc. Then there is an announcement that they will be arriving at the urban cultural park soon. ]

Our stop is the one after the next one. [ Just to give Damien a heads up. ]

--Mn. [ He wasn't exactly paying attention because when he looks out the window from where he stands, he gets a somewhat obscured view of town (he's still short, so it makes looking over heads quite difficult). He takes in all that he sees and is amazed at any new place that he goes to.

... Like what you see so far? [ It's okay, Damien. When he returned home, it was like everything was new but not at the same time. Things did change though. ]

This place is usually safe, so it's nice to walk around outside and see everything.

Yeah... It's cool. Do you go there a lot?

[ He feels like he has so many questions to ask... ]

Sometimes. I like visiting the Butterfly Pavilion sometimes. It's pretty calming since it's connected to the forest.

Anything special where you live? [ He's sure there must be other things over there. Probably more interesting things. ]

[ He thinks that if it's connected to the forest, it must be pretty huge. He starts to ponder on what's so great about the place that he lives in. ]

I don't think there's anything fun where I live.

Really? Not even one thing? [ He raises his eyebrows. Most people are usually either spiteful about their home or engrossed... ]

Maybe it's because you're so used to it, it's not a big deal. [ And the bus stops. Cameron will lead Damien out now while saying bye to everyone on the bus. ]

No... there really isn't anything fun. If you want to have fun, you have to make things fun. There aren't any places there that help with that.

[ He's trying not to be so cynical, because he thinks that he's stating the facts. Rather opinionated facts, but thinks that the majority could agree on. ]

I don't think it's because I'm used to it.

Really? That's a shame... [ Here he thought maybe he would visit and there would be a bunch of things to see.

But look at the park!! It has the architecture of old, but it has been preserved well. There's map showing several attractions such as gardens, museums, science center,pavillions, and more. ]

Have an idea where you want to go first?

[ It's really only his area because book 2 is a bleak setting

Garden! I wanna see the garden. I wonder if it has more plants than my caretaker's.

The garden is beyond the koi pond. [ He points towards the direction before leading--

it isn't really a pond, bu literally a large lake in the shape of a rectangle that leads towards the garden which has the exterior of a bird cage with two large wing corridors. ]

A lot of baby koi this year...

Baby koi? The fish? Did the eggs hatch recently? [ Damien doesn't make a beeline for the garden, but takes his time to appreciate the lake and the fish that reside within it. ]

[ You can also see turtles and tadpoles in the pond, little Damien. Cameron shrugs. ]

Probably. It hasn't been too cold lately, so I guess it isn't that surprising.

Do they hatch a lot at a time? Or only a little?

[ Oh, he thinks there's a little turtle coming this way. He doesn't extend his hand to it, and only watches from where he is. ]
