oops my fingers slipped

[ Wherever you are, there is a blanket lump on the ground near you. It doesn't seem to notice your presence, actually. It seems to move every now and then, but no exaggerated movements. It's also kind of strange that if it was hot earlier, the temperature feels normal whenever the blanket lump is around.

[ Kick the baby indeed.

Just kidding, he's nudging the blanket with his foot. ]

[framestory]

[ wow he's not a baby!!

When Ellis feels that nudge, he peeks out from the blanket to see... Cameron. He has a surprised look on his face as if he was found out after so much effort of hiding! Except... that isn't the case at all.

This is why he'll just keep staring at you, Cameron. ]

[drawback]

[ He kneels down before peering into the little blanket cave that Ellis made. Who's this guy...? So unfamiliar. ]

What are you doing?

[framestory]

[ He continues to stare at Cameron, mostly at his mouth in an attempt to decipher what he's saying. He's not good at lip reading, but he's not terrible either. This is why he kind of understands what Cameron is saying, because that blank look of his doesn't help him read expressions.

He gets out his phone and types before showing it to him. ]

"Nothing in particular. I'm just doing what I want."

[drawback]

[ Ah... Is he mute? Deaf? Which one is it?! Cameron keeps the question to himself since he's sure that he can someone figure it out the more they talk--converse?? Tilting his head to the side, he rests his elbows on his knees before leaning to examine the inside of this blanket.

It's just a blanket. ]

You sure like doing dangerous things then.

[framestory]

[ Yup, there's nothing special in this blanket nor is it some kind of special cloth like an Invisibility Cloak™. It's a thin, white sheet of normalcy.

Ellis stares at him, kind of wishing that more people knew how to sign, but gets the gist of what Cameron is saying. He types his reply in the phone again and shows it to him. ]

"What's so dangerous about it?"

[ Well, he's in a stranger's house, for starters. That could be one thing. ]

[drawback]

[ He strokes his chin before squinting a bit. There's a lot of things dangerous about this... If it were to be some girl's house, he's sure that Ellis would be called a pervert and be arrested. ]

Well, you're in someone else's house. [ It's like you can read his mind. Exactly. ] And you're definitely not from here.

[framestory]

[ Too much lip reading! He almost wants to give up, because he thinks it's a lot of work. Ellis still stares at Cameron while he's sitting on the floor. He hands him his phone, which is opened to a notepad function that says the "please type here" in the background of the typing area. ]

[drawback]

[ Oh... He's deaf. Cameron starts typing into the phone what he just said previously except with this "O 3O" face right next to it. ]

[framestory]

[ He takes the phone back after he assumes that Cameron is done typing and looks at what he wrote. He stares at the emote for a good second or two before erasing the message. Ellis types back and hands it to Cameron without much thought or hesitation in what he wrote. ]

"You look like a safe person to be around."

[drawback]

[ Cameron reads it and finds it reasonable for the most part. If one were to look at Cameron, he doesn't seem to be the most intimidating and suspicious person around these parts. Either way, he'll start typing again and give it back to him. ]

What if I was a predator in disguise?

[framestory]

[ After reading the text, Ellis tries not to laugh. He fails though, as some snickering gets past even as he covers his mouth. Oops. He looks up at Cameron, smiles, and shakes his head as he types his reply and hands his phone to Cameron again. ]

"Actual predators don't say that out loud."

[drawback]

What if they do that to throw you off? [ This method of communication is a bit slow, but he's getting used to this. He puts on his coldest blank face in order to counter the fact it is totally a joke--

I mean it isn't a joke. ]

[framestory]

[ The cold stare doesn't affect Ellis as much as it would do normally to another person. In fact, it's as if Cameron is just staring at him normally like how Ellis does it. He types out his reply like usual and hands it back to Cameron. ]

"You wouldn't be explaining it to me either."

[drawback]

[ There is a deep silence as Cameron stare at the phone. Finally after a second or two, he looks up to Ellis. Then back down at the phone-- ]

You are a sharp one. Most kids pee their pants by now.

[framestory]

[ When he sees Cameron's reply, he stares at it for three seconds before typing out his reply. He does shove the phone back at Cameron though and gets comfortable on the floor with the white sheet wrapped around him. ]

"I'm not a kid. I'm 21. :("

[drawback]

If you think about it we're all still young compared to the elderly. [ He doesn't give Ellis back the phone just yet. He only flashes this message first before typing something else. ]

Why are you here?

[framestory]

[ "Young compared to the elderly"... When Ellis thinks about it that way, he decides that he can agree with that. He looks pretty high-spirited, because he doesn't like being called a kid otherwise. He types back on the phone with a smile on his face and hands it back. ]

"I was wondering if I could attract interesting people."

[drawback]

[ That's a strange reason. He's a bit puzzles, but it's simple enough... He carefully inputs his reply again before passing it back. ]

How's that working for you?

[framestory]

"I found you."

[ Ellis looks up at Cameron while smiling after he passes the phone back. He's also not aware of how bad of a pickup line this sounds, nor does he have the intention to flatter either. It's just how he thinks and expresses in accordance to his thoughts. ]

[drawback]

[ There's some silence as he just stares at Ellis for a while. He's not sure how to react to that--Just kidding. He does.

Be very nonchalant about it. ]

Is that a pick-up line?

[framestory]

[ He blinks once and stares at the phone for a moment until typing it back. He resists the urge to laugh--he really does. He gives the phone back to Cameron for him to read. ]

"I can't pick up anyone. I'm too scrawny for that."

[ So, of course, the right course of action to take is to play dumb. ]

[drawback]

[ He looks at Ellis then back at the phone... Scrawny huh. Typing some more into it, he return the phone. ]

It's okay. I'm pretty lightweight myself.

[ Cameron is an accepting individual. ]

[framestory]

[ He types back without hesitation. ]

"Then can I try to pick you up?"

[ FOR SCIENCE, obviously. Nah, he's just curious. ]
